Cold air intake systems serve several important functions.  Primarily, they are used to increase the amount of oxygen available to the engine, increasing power. Because cool air has greater density than hot air, aftermarket intakes improve combustion of fuel by capturing cooler air from outside the engine compartment. AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 is compatible with conventional and synthetic motor oils. Mixing AMSOIL motor oils with other oils, however, will shorten the oil life expectancy and reduce the performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where oils have been mixed.

Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL motor oils.

SERVICE LIFE
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 Premium Diesel Oil is recommended for use according to the longest service interval established by the engine, vehicle or equipment manufacturer. Drain intervals may be extended when monitored by oil analysis.

AMSOIL Duramax Turbo Diesel Power By-Pass Filter System

The Ea By-Pass Oil Filter (EaBP) provides the best possible filtration protection against wear and oil degradation. Working in conjunction with the engine’s full-flow oil filter, the AMSOIL Ea By-Pass Filter operates by filtering oil on a “partial-flow” basis. It draws approximately 10 percent of the oil pump’s capacity at any one time and traps the extremely small, wear-causing contaminants that full-flow filters can’t remove. The AMSOIL Ea Bypass Filter typically filters all the oil in the system several times an hour, so the engine continuously receives analytically clean oil.

AMSOIL offers by-pass components to ease the installation of the BMK-21 By-Pass Filtration System in three popular diesel engines: the Ford 6.0L Power Stroke™, the Dodge 5.9L Cummins and the General Motors 6.6L Duramax.

Engine compartments are becoming increasingly cramped, leaving little room for after-market additions and improvements. The BMK21 is a single remote by-pass filter system that fits into much smaller spaces than the AMSOIL Dual-Remote By-Pass System.

General Motors 6.6L Duramax Diesels
To provide GM Duramax owners the same ease of installing the BMK21, AMSOIL is now offering an oil filter “Sandwich” adapter (BK1201).

The Sandwich adapter is an anodized billet aluminum adapter that screws on to the present full flow oil filter nipple located on the engine block. The full flow filter is then simply spun on to the adapter. The Sandwich adapter has an orifice to provide high-pressure oil feed for the BMK-21. Like the other diesel applications, AMSOIL now offers an Aluminum Billet Oil Filler Cap for (BK1202) to ease the installation of the oil flow from the BMK-21 back to the engine. To complete an installation, the following components must be purchased separately:

1. Aluminum oil filter Sandwich Adapter with o-ring (BK1201)

Reduces Wear
Approximately 60 percent of all engine wear is caused by dirt particles in the 5 to 20 micron range. These particles can get inside the precision clearances between
engine components and cause severe damage. While full-flow oil filters generally
stop contaminants no smaller than 25 to 40 microns, the
AMSOIL By-Pass Filter effectively stops particles down to one micron in size, substantially reducing engine wear.

Extends Oil Drain Intervals
Because the
AMSOIL By-Pass Oil Filter removes water and particles down to one micron, it significantly increases the time oil can safely be left in the engine. In fact, engines using AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil and an AMSOIL By-Pass Oil Filter routinely show much lower rates of engine wear – even when the oil is used for significantly longer drain intervals – than engines using conventional products and conventional oil drain intervals.

Rule of thumb: AMSOIL recommends changing of both filters at 15,000 or once per year. Then change the EaO-26 at 25,000 miles and the EaBP-100 at 50,000 miles. Sample your oil every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or annually to monitor TBN, wear and oil quality. ________________________________________________________________________
