  • First to manufacture a synthetic automatic transmission fluid for automotive use.

I retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy as The Main Propulsion Assistant and was responsible for the synthetic lubrication and filtration of 4 General Electric Gas Turbine Main Engines and 3 Rolls Royce Allison Gas Turbine Generators. Testing and knowing the properties of synthetic oil and filtration was my primary job. In 2003, I retired and became a Full Time Amsoil Dealer. I started The Synthetic Store with a vision of passing on my knowledge and the benefits of using a premium synthetic motor oil in everyday use.

Let's talk about benefits. The first thing I noticed after switching to Amsoil was my engine ran quieter. I've also heard this from many customer's with gasoline or diesel engines. Why is this? Amsoil is 100 percent synthetic. A Grade IV Oil. It's not a blend or "Fully Synthetic" like or competitors. Their base oil is a Grade 3 with no synthetic additive. To put it simply, oil in regular petroleum or crude oil is refined right out of the ground. Amsoil will openly say "Our oil is 100 Percent Synthetic". Also, Look at the container. Our competitors say change at the manufacturers recommended interval or when the oil change light comes on. Look at the front of a case of Amsoil motor oil or the container. "Guaranteed 25,000 miles or 1 year" Look at our synthetic motor oil.

I just talked about "Fully Synthetic" oils (Mobil 1, Valvoline, Quaker State, Castrol etc.) which are mostly petroleum and Amsoil, 100 Percent Synthetic Motor Oil. Petroleum is a crude oil containing wax and other impurities. This is where the sludge comes from and why manufacturers tell you to change your oil around 5000 miles. Sludge is the wax and impurities that form inside your engine. With these oils, your engine has to work harder. Harder means your vehicle runs hotter. You won't be able to tell since it happens over time and your engine is less fuel efficient. Amsoil is 100 Percent Synthetic. It does not contain any of these impurities that promote sludge inside your engine and reduces heat, soot and oil thickening from the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) in your diesel. Look at our new diesel oil and gear lube.

Fuel Efficiency. I think this is a benefit. Save money on gas or diesel fuel. You can expect your gas mileage to increase anywhere up to 5 percent when you switch to Amsoil. It's all about your engine performing better. Your engine will run cooler and quieter. 90 percent of the dirt in your engine comes from a dirty air filter look at our Ea absolute efficiency air filter.

Reduce maintenance costs. Save time, money and have the piece of mind by using a premium synthetic oil. Don't change your oil and filter every 5000 miles. Amsoil lasts 5 times longer PLUS it has 5 times less wear than a conventional motor oil. It reduces heat dramatically which affects wear on external engine parts. Change it 1 time per year rather than every 3 months. That in itself is a big savings. Amsoil motor oil does cost a little more, but look at the benefits. Add up the cost associated with changing your oil 5 times a year versus 1. Your time is worth something! Don't waste it at the dealer, your favorite repair shop or these quick lube places.

Amsoil is 100 Percent Synthetic with Value and Benefits.

What can your expect when switching to Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oil?
  • Immeadiate start up protection. 60% of engine wear occurs during start up. Amsoil motor oils use PAO base stocks and special anti-wear agents that form a thin film that clings to engine parts preventing metal to metal contact and providing immeadiate start up protection. No more dry starts.
  • Higher engine RPM and more power. Amsoil synthetic motor oil reduces friction more effectively than conventional motor oils so engine parts move more efficiently. Your engine will run a lot cooler thus burning less gasoline or diesel. This creates more power to the wheels.
  • Incresed fuel efficiency. Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oils create less friction and reduce fuel consumption increasing fuel economy significantly up to 5 percent. When using Amsoil, your engine doesn't have to work as hard so fuel economy is immeadiate.
  • Lower operating temperatures. Amsoil motor oils reduce excessive the operating temperatures of your oil sump by around 20 degree's F. compared to other motor oils. Since our 100% synthetic motor oil reduces friction, less heat is generated. Amsoil motor oils dissapate this heat more efficiently than other motor oils to further enhance this cooling process.
  • Better cold weather starts. Conventional oils contain waxes, sulfur and other impurities that cause the oil to thicken at cold weather temperatures. This thick oil slows the flow of oil at engine start up and promotes engine wear.
